MAKEDONIA. Fotiadis, Michael, <<Imagining Macedonia in Prehistory, ca. 1900-1930>>, Journal of Mediterranean Archaeology 14.2 (2001) 115-135.

A complex, thickly analytical review of how (pre)history can be phantasized/and consequently distorted through the perceptions of those attempting a reconstruction/interpretation of the early history of an area, in this instance Makedon(ia).

From at least the point of view of some Athenians an <<ambivalence about the Macedonians>>, which may be earlier, has been passed on, and this ambivalence surely introduces a shadow of distortion in modern attempts of reconstructing/interpreting Makedonian history [cf. Fotiadis herein, page 131, before Acknowledgments].
