Phi Alpha Theta

Phi Alpha Theta, the history honor society at CCSU, is an international scholastic organization dedicated to promoting historical study on the undergraduate and graduate levels. Admission to CCSU’s Chi Iota Chapter is open to undergraduates who have taken at least four history courses, have a minimum 3.1 GPA in their history courses, and a 3.0 GPA overall; graduate students should have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours towards their M.A. degree, have a GPA of better than 3.5, and shall have completed approximately 30% of the residence requirements for the M.A. degree. Phi Alpha Theta holds a biennial convention as well as regional historical conferences, and publishes a distinguished national scholarly periodical, The Historian. The Phi Alpha Theta chapter at CCSU holds its initiation of new members in spring of each year.
