Job Search for Assistant Professor in Modern German History

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR -- HISTORY DEPARTMENT


Central Connecticut State University, an urban, comprehensive public institution that serves 12,000 students in the greater Hartford area, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Modern German History. The successful applicant will teach survey courses in world history and upper division courses in area of specialty, including modern Germany and the Holocaust.

Requirements: Ph.D. in history or related field required, ABD will be considered but Ph.D. must be completed within one year of appointment; demonstrated ability to work with a diverse student body and evidence of good teaching and scholarship required.

Prospective candidates must send a letter of application, C.V., 3 letters of recommendation, sample syllabus, and sample of scholarship (from thesis/dissertation, publication, conference paper) to: Dr. Louise Williams, Modern Germany Search, Department of History, CCSU, 1615 Stanley Street, New Britain, CT 06050. Review of applications will begin December 15, 2007 and continue until the position is filled. Preliminary interviews will occur at the Washington meeting of the American Historical Association in January 2008 or by telephone. Salary and benefits competitive.
